Capture of “Fire Horse”.

Fire Horse is a collaboration of my BIRO (ballpoint pen) work and Angela Stout from Paintings by AKS watercolor techniques. The combination of our talents came up with this beautiful painting of the “Fire Horse”.

Bob at Riverworks Imaging in Boise, Idaho did a beautiful capture of this piece and 11″ x 17″prints on archival paper are available for sale.

I am looking into making this larger on canvas. Please let me know if you are interested!

The BIRO artist, Robin Hewitt announced today that her BIRO series “Indecision” will be featured at an artist signing exhibition at The Dancing Elephant Gallery, Baker City, Oregon.

PRLog (Press Release)Mar. 30, 2014BAKER CITY, Ore.Robin Hewitt owner of Western Reflectionz, is a local Boise, Idaho artist known for her detailed and unique perspective with BIRO (ballpoint pen) illustrations. The Dancing Elephant Gallery has selected Robin’s work for the featured artist of the month, April 2014. Her portfolio features one of the most majestic animals of the great Northwest, the elk. Robin became enamored with this particular subject while working for the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife. During her tenure she volunteered to come to Baker City to help with trapping, transplanting and feeding of elk. This “hands-on” experience is the foundation for her inspirational work. “So often my art comes from the past and applies to future,” said Robin Hewitt. “I am just along for the ride. The date for her signing of “Indecision” is April 4, 2014 from 6pm – 8pm. Don’t miss this chance to meet one of the only successful BIRO artists in the Pacific Northwest!

Robin Hewitt lives and creates her art in Boise and has been an artist there and in Oregon for more than 25 years. Regarding this art show Robin stated, “I am very pleased and excited to be chosen by The Dancing Elephant Gallery for this solo show. It is nice to be recognized regionally in the Northwest art community and also because this is where I live and work.” Much of her art is limited edition and designed for both avid collector and local art enthusiast.

The Dancing Elephant Gallery is recently refurbished and updated to handle larger crowds and more art events in the future. The gallery will announce the dates for their new Summer Art Series showcasing art from across the Northwest. The Dancing Elephant Gallery is located at 1788 Main Street, Baker City, OR 97814. They are open daily, Monday through Saturday: 10:00am to 5:30pm. – Tel: (541) 523-9672.
