Alpha ~ A Pet Portrait in Ballpoint

A little over a year ago our wolf hybrid Alpha passed away. Alpha was 1/2 Husky, 1/4 Malamute and a 1/4 Red Wolf.

My husband wanted a portrait of him. So, this year for Christmas I decided to at least get started on him.

Here you can see my reference photo better. It is a picture that I took myself and one of my favorites.
At this point (8 hours) I had to stop and wrap him as a work in progress for Christmas.

The present was a big surprise. My husband requested that I make prints available when I’m finished and I am not allowed to complete him until after I am finished my current 6 commissions and rodeo art for my upcoming 2021 Show at the Initial Point Gallery in Meridian, Idaho.

Updating my Website

In the hopes of looking more professional, I teamed up with my best friend, Angela K. Stout and a book that you can get on Kindle called “Starving to Successful” by Jason Horejs.

WOW!!! There’s just so much information…. I bounce ideas off of Angela and will probably read Jason’s book a couple of times.

I didn’t realize how hard it was to navigate through my site to be able to see my portfolio and buy my art.

Plus the added fact that people…. really didn’t know anything about me.

I have collectors, but no one knew.

I had to build an artist resume… WHAT? *that was my deer in the headlight look*

These are things that galleries want to see when you send them an email.

So, nose to the grindstone and wish me luck!

Hamilton ~ An American Bison ~ Ballpoint Pen Art ~ Work in progress

I started Hamilton about 2 years ago at about 30 hours of work I had to stop. Then I had a total knee replacement. The next year I had carpal tunnel surgery on my drawing hand.

Needless to say art took a backseat for a couple years. My hand finally decided it would cooperate.

So, August 2020 I started doing a few shows and started working on Hamilton again.

Here is a Youtube video (my 1st) of Hamilton at 65 hours of work. This is when people said he started to get attitude.

Hamilton ~ Ballpoint Pen Art ~ 2020

I finished him in November of 2020 with 125 hours of work.

If you are interested, prints are available at Western Reflectionz.
